Located in Midland, Texas the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum (PBPM) traces the history of the oil industry in the Permian Basin, and had not been updated in the 40-years since its opening. The museum engaged Jack Rouse Associates (JRA) to oversee a complete renovation of the museum. JRA brought in GoConvergence to produce all of the content, theme-park oriented attractions, and interactive exhibits that are not only fun to play, but also educate guests about the industry as a whole.
None of the museum’s content had been updated in the 40 years since its opening. A lot of important history went unmentioned and technologies that had revolutionized the industry were not displayed.
Jack Rouse Associates of Cincinnati, Ohio, a leading exhibition design company, selected GoCo to be its interactive content partner and supplier. Our 57-item punch list included two theater shows, three animated films, more than 160 individual videos, interactive games and quizzes, and a database of career opportunities in oil and gas.
A museum featuring cutting-edge technology that far exceeded the vision of both JRA and the museum’s director.
